Mahindra has officially launched the new Thar OG in India, giving its iconic three-door lifestyle SUV another major update. Revealed on September 22, 2026, the new Mahindra Thar OG comes with a refreshed exterior, upgraded safety equipment, new features and revised mechanicals. The introductory price starts at ₹10.32 lakh, ex-showroom, with the range going up to ₹18.99 lakh.
Mahindra Thar OG Gets a Fresh Exterior Design
The Mahindra Thar OG retains its instantly recognisable boxy silhouette while receiving several styling changes. The SUV now gets a new five-slat grille, full LED headlamps with C-shaped DRLs, redesigned front and rear bumpers and new 19-inch alloy wheels. The design also takes inspiration from the larger Thar Roxx, which gives the three-door SUV a more modern appearance.
Updated Cabin and New Features
Inside, the Thar OG continues with the modernised cabin introduced with the previous update, while adding some fresh touches, including the brown leatherette upholstery. Mahindra has also focused on safety, with six airbags and four disc brakes offered as standard. The SUV continues to feature connected technology and equipment which are designed in such a way that suits both urban driving and off-road adventures.
Engine and Off-Road Capability
The new Mahindra Thar OG is offered with petrol and diesel engine options, paired with manual and automatic transmission choices depending on the variant. The SUV continues to offer Four Wheel Drive capability, maintaining its focus on off-road performance while also meeting the everyday driving requirements of customers
Mahindra Thar OG Price and Deliveries
The Mahindra Thar OG is available in AXT, LXT and the new ZXT variants. Its introductory price starts at ₹10.32 lakh and goes up to ₹18.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from October 11, 2026, while the introductory prices are applicable to vehicles delivered until November 30, 2026.
