Vivo is reportedly gearing up to bring back its -series smartphones to India with the launch of the Vivo S2, and recent leaks suggest that the device could make its debut on August 6, with the first sale expected to begin on August 11. Although Vivo has yet to officially confirm the launch, multiple reports have indicated that the handset will target the premium mid-range segment with flagship-inspired specifications.
According to the latest leaks, the Vivo S2 is expected to feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth visuals and lively colours. The phone is also tipped to include an in-display fingerprint scanner and a slim, lightweight design, which is aimed at users who are looking for a premium feel.
Powering the smartphone could be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, placing the Vivo S2 among the most powerful phones in its expected price range. Reports also suggest the handset may pack a 7,000mAh battery, promising extended battery life while supporting fast charging.
Photography appears to be a major highlight of the upcoming device. The Vivo S2 is rumoured to sport a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, the smartphone is expected to feature a 32MP selfie camera, which makes it suitable for both photography lovers and content creators
Leaked information also points to 8GB RAM paired with 128GB and 256GB storage options, while colour choices may include Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White. The expected price is said to fall below ₹50,000, placing it against rivals such as the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R.
