Hyundai has officially opened bookings for the upcoming Bayon SUV in India, ahead of its expected launch during the 2026 festive season. Positioned between the Venue and Creta in the SUV range, the new Bayon is aimed at buyers who are looking for a technology-focused midsize SUV with a unique design and modern cabin.
Customers can book the Hyundai Bayon online or through authorised Hyundai dealerships across India by paying an initial booking amount of ₹11,000. Hyundai has confirmed that the SUV will arrive during the festive season, while the exact delivery timeline will be announced closer to its launch.
Hyundai Bayon Gets a Distinctive SUV Design
The Hyundai Bayon features a crossover-inspired design with a sculpted bonnet, prominent wheel arches and a futuristic front fascia. The SUV gets split lighting with the signature H Edge LED daytime running lights of Hyundai positioned above the main headlamps.
At the rear, the Bayon is expected to feature a slim LED lighting signature, roof spoiler and a sculpted tailgate. Hyundai says the SUV measures around 4.2 metres in length, placing it in the competitive midsize SUV segment.
Hyundai Bayon Interior and Features
Inside, the upcoming Hyundai Bayon is expected to get a modern cabin inspired by the latest global models of Hyundai. The India specification SUV will feature twin connected screens, while the dashboard is expected to include physical controls for the climate functions.
One of the major technology highlights confirmed by Hyundai is an in-built generative AI voice assistant. The system is designed to provide a more connected and intuitive interaction between the driver and vehicle. Hyundai is also highlighting safety, comfort and connected technology as key areas of the Bayon.
Hyundai Bayon Engine and Gearbox Options
The Hyundai Bayon will be powered by a petrol engine and will be offered with both manual and Intelligent Variable Transmission options. Autocar India reports that the SUV is expected to use Hyundai’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, although the final specifications and state of tune are yet to be confirmed.
Hyundai Bayon Expected Price in India
The Hyundai Bayon is expected to be positioned competitively in the Indian midsize SUV market. Autocar India estimates an expected price range of around ₹9 lakh to ₹14 lakh, ex-showroom, although Hyundai has not yet announced the official prices.
