Toyota has officially launched the 2026 Hilux in India, with prices starting at ₹31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest-generation lifestyle pickup truck receives a unique makeover, featuring a tougher exterior, a more premium cabin, upgraded technology, and a new 48V mild-hybrid diesel powertrain while retaining its legendary off-road capability.
The new Hilux sports a more muscular appearance with a redesigned front fascia, slimmer LED headlamps, a larger grille, updated bumpers, fresh alloy wheels, and revised LED tail-lamps. Despite the visual overhaul, it continues to provide the rugged stance and high ground clearance which have made the Hilux a global icon.
Inside, Toyota has significantly modernised the cabin. The pickup now features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other premium additions include ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, and enhanced upholstery, giving the Hilux a more SUV-like feel.
Powering the 2026 Hilux is the familiar 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, now paired with 48V mild-hybrid technology. The engine continues to produce 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox and Toyota’s four-wheel-drive system. The mild-hybrid setup is designed to improve fuel efficiency, smoother low-speed performance, and overall refinement without compromising the pickup’s off-road credentials.
On the safety front, Toyota has equipped the new Hilux with seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Assist Control, Downhill Assist Control, and a suite of advanced driver assistance features on higher variants.
With its upgraded styling, premium interior, and electrified diesel powertrain, the 2026 Toyota Hilux aims to strengthen its position in the premium lifestyle pickup segment of India. It will continue to rival the Isuzu V-Cross, while also appealing to adventure enthusiasts and buyers who are looking for a rugged yet feature-rich utility vehicle.
