The actress was recently seen wearing an exquisite ochre and emerald green anarkali by Hyderabad-based designer Gaurang Shah, bringing in the centuries-old Kalamkari art of Andhra Pradesh into a modern fashion setting.
The outfit provides a fresh h interpretation of Kalamkari, a traditional Indian textile art known for its complex storytelling motifs and detailed craftsmanship. Instead of the more commonly used cotton, Shah’s creation features hand-painted Kalamkari artwork on delicate silk organza, giving the outfit a lightweight and ethereal appearance.
Ajanta-Inspired Kalamkari Takes Centre Stage
The warm ochre skirt is covered with elaborate figurative scenes inspired by the murals of the Ajanta Caves in Maharashtra. Each element of the artwork was painstakingly rendered by hand, which makes the outfit both a celebration of traditional craftsmanship and a modern fashion statement. The deep emerald green bodice creates a striking colour-blocked contrast against the ochre skirt.
An Elegant Dupatta Completes the Look
