Redmi Note 17 Series Teased With Giant Batteries: Standard Model Gets 7-Inch OLED, Pro Variant Confirmed With 9,000mAh Cell

Xiaomi has officially revealed key specifications of the upcoming Redmi Note 17 series ahead of its China launch on July 14, and the lineup is shaping up to be one of the biggest battery-focused smartphone releases of the year. The company has confirmed that the standard Redmi Note 17 will feature a massive 7-inch OLED display paired with an 8,000mAh battery, while the Redmi Note 17 Pro will raise the bar further with a 9,000mAh battery

The standard Redmi Note 17 is set to become the largest Redmi Note phone yet, thanks to its 7-inch 120Hz OLED panel. Xiaomi says the display will provide up to 1,200 nits of global brightness and include multiple eye-protection features for comfortable long-term viewing. The phone will support 5W wired charging along with 22.5W reverse wired charging, which allows users to power other compatible devices. It is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 Pro will have an even larger 9,000mAh battery, which makes it one of the biggest batteries in a mainstream smartphone. According to the company, the battery is designed to retain at least 80 per cent of its original capacity after four years of use. Xiaomi is also introducing a five-year battery replacement promise, providing a free replacement if the battery health drops below the promised level during the coverage period.

The Redmi Note 17 series is expected to launch in China on July 14, with global and Indian availability likely to be announced later. With exceptionally large batteries, oversized displays, and improved battery longevity commitments, Xiaomi appears to be targeting users who prioritise long-lasting performance, entertainment, and productivity over ultra-slim smartphone designs.
