Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 17 in India, bringing a major battery upgrade and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipset to its popular mid-range smartphone lineup. The new device is aimed at users who are looking for long battery life, a lively display and dependable everyday performance without moving into the premium price segment.
The Redmi Note 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor and features a 6.9-inch TrueColour AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smoother scrolling and an improved viewing experience. The phone also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance, adding extra durability for daily use.
One of the biggest highlights is its 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest ever on a Redmi smartphone in India. Xiaomi claims the battery can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge. It supports 45W fast charging, which allows users to quickly top up the massive battery when needed.
For photography, the Redmi Note 17 sports a 50MP primary rear camera supported by AI-powered imaging features. On the software side, it runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3, and Xiaomi has promised four years of Android OS updates along with long-term security patches, which makes it a future-ready option
The Redmi Note 17 starts at ₹24,999 in India, while higher storage variants go up to ₹27,999, depending on the configuration. The smartphone will be available for purchase beginning August 12 through the official Xiaomi channels and major retail platforms.
