JSW MG Motor India has officially teased its upcoming three-row SUV, expected to be called the MG Hector Hawk, ahead of its India debut later this month. The new SUV is set to make its debut on August 26, 2026, while pre-bookings have already opened for an initial amount of ₹21,000.
The MG Hector Hawk is an important addition to the upcoming electrified portfolio of the brand .Unlike the existing Hector , the new SUV is based on the G’s newer ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) architecture, which has been designed to support multiple new-energy powertrains. The model is closely related to the global Wuling Starlight 560 and will be positioned as a spacious three-row SUV.
MG Hector Hawk: EV and PHEV Powertrains
The Hector Hawk is expected to be offered with both electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. The EV version is expected to arrive first, with the plug-in hybrid version likely to follow. MG has not yet confirmed the final India-spec battery, motor or performance figures.
The global-spec Wuling Starlight 560 PHEV uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine combined with an electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery. It produces around 194bhp and 230Nm, although these specifications may differ for the India-spec model.
MG Hector Hawk Expected Price and Rivals
The new SUV is expected to sit in the premium three-row SUV space, with estimated prices ranging between ₹15 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the powertrain. The PHEV could compete with buyers considering models such as the Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Harrier, while the EV could take on electric SUVs such as the Mahindra XEV 9S.
With its combination of three-row practicality and electrified powertrains, the MG Hector Hawk could become one of most significant new launches of MG in India this year .
