Meta has unveiled a new pair of lightweight virtual reality glasses priced at $1,299.99, which marks a major shift in the company’s approach to VR software. Announced at Meta Connect 2026, the Meta VR Glasses are designed to deliver immersive virtual reality and augmented reality experiences in a form which looks much closer to conventional eyewear rather than a traditional headset

Built for Movies, Gaming and Productivity
Meta is positioning the VR Glasses as a device for entertainment as well as productivity. Users can watch movies in an immersive virtual cinema, access 3D content and create multiple virtual windows for work. The glasses can also connect to Mac and PC computers to mirror displays.
Eye tracking and hand gesture controls are built into the experience, while traditional controllers and gamepads remain supported for compatible game
Meta VR Glasses Price and Release Date
The Meta VR Glasses are priced at $1,299.99 and are scheduled to launch in spring 2027 across North America, Europe and Asia. The pricing puts the device considerably below Apple’s Vision Pro, while Meta is also emphasizing its much lighter glasses style design.
