Mahindra has launched the new XUV 3XO ZNG CNG in India, introducing a turbocharged CNG powertrain to its popular compact SUV lineup. Priced from ₹9.99 lakh (ex showroom), the new model combines performance, fuel efficiency and everyday practicality. The launch marks the entry of Mahindra into the mainstream factory-fitted CNG passenger vehicle segment, which gives buyers an alternative to conventional petrol and diesel SUVs
Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG CNG Price and Variants
The Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG is available in four variants, with prices ranging from ₹9.99 lakh to ₹12.27 lakh (ex-showroom). The entry-level MX Edge costs ₹9.99 lakh, followed by the REVX Edge Optional at ₹10.79 lakh and the AX5 at ₹11.19 lakh. The top-spec REVX A variant is priced at ₹12.27 lakh.
Turbocharged CNG Engine and Mileage
One of the biggest highlights of the XUV 3XO ZNG is its 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol CNG engine. The powertrain produces 111 PS and 200 Nm of torque in both petrol and CNG modes, paired with a six speed manual gearbox.
Mahindra claims a fuel efficiency of 24.7 km per kg, which makes the SUV an interesting option for buyers who are looking for lower running costs without compromising on performance. Actual mileage may vary depending on driving conditions and usage.
Features and Interior Highlights
The new CNG SUV retains the XUV 3XO’s feature-focused approach. Even the entry-level variant offers a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto, wired Apple CarPlay, cruise control, steering-mounted audio controls and a rear-view camera.
Other convenience features include rear AC vents and a 60:40 split rear seat, which adds to its everyday usability.
Twin Cylinder Setup and Boot Space
Mahindra has equipped the XUV 3XO ZNG with an underfloor twin cylinder CNG storage arrangement. This layout helps preserve 270 litres of usable boot space, addressing a common concern among CNG vehicle buyers. The SUV aims to offer a balance between luggage capacity, fuel efficiency and family-friendly practicality.
Rivals and Market Position
The Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG competes in the compact SUV segment, where buyers also consider CNG alternatives such as the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Its turbocharged engine and claimed efficiency of 24.7 km per kg distinguish it from conventional naturally aspirated CNG offerings.
With prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh, the XUV 3XO ZNG targets customers looking for SUV styling, useful technology and economical daily driving.
