Kiara Advani has once again made a strong fashion statement, this time in a dramatic gothic-inspired sari by designer Manish Malhotra. The actor wore the striking outfit while promoting her upcoming film Toxic in Hyderabad, bringing a dark and romantic edge to her promotional wardrobe.
The look featured a pre-draped black velvet sari crafted from fine Italian velvet, known for its rich sheen and luxurious finish. The fabric is woven using a technique perfected during the Renaissance era, adding a sense of old-world craftsmanship to the modern silhouette
The blouse was equally eye-catching. Designed with full sleeves, an elevated Queen Anne neckline and a closed collar, it was crafted from delicate Italian lace. According to Manish Malhotra, the complex lace is handmade using fine threads and needles, creating patterns inspired by the stained-glass windows of Renaissance-era churches.
The gothic mood of the outfit also connects with the character of Kiara, Nadia in Toxic, for which Malhotra has designed the costumes. The dark romanticism of the outfit gives it a cinematic quality while placing it firmly within the fashion conversation around dramatic, statement dressing.
Stylist Lakshmi Lehr completed the look of Kiara with the oversized polki stud earrings and a statement choker featuring emeralds and diamonds from Razwada Jewels. She paired the outfit with Aquazzura heels, while her beauty look featured flushed blush, defined lashes and a nude lip. Her hair was neatly pulled into a simple bun, which allowed the complex blouse and the jewellery to remain the main focus
Kiara’s gothic Manish Malhotra sari also gives a fresh take on the occasionwear. The luxurious velvet makes it particularly suited to evening celebrations, cocktail parties and winter wedding events, while the dramatic jewellery adds a regal finishing touch.
With its combination of Italian craftsmanship, traditional Indian draping and gothic glamour, the latest fashion moment of Kiara proves that the sari can be both a timeless piece and strikingly modern
