Kia India has officially opened bookings for the all-new Sorento Hybrid, which makes a major step ahead of the premium SUV’s much-anticipated India launch. The Sorento will become the first hybrid SUV in the country and is expected to strengthen the presence of the brand in the three-row premium segment.
Customers can now reserve the upcoming SUV by paying a booking amount of Rs. 25,000 through Kia dealerships across India or via the official website of the company. Kia has also released the first teaser of the SUV, showcasing its bold styling, signature LED lighting elements, and updated front fascia.
The India-spec Sorento is expected to be powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine combined with a hybrid system, which makes it the first electrified Kia SUV offering for the Indian market. The setup is likely to prioritise fuel efficiency while delivering strong performance, although official power and torque figures are yet to be announced.
Globally, the Sorento is known for its premium cabin, three-row seating, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), panoramic infotainment display, connected car technology, ventilated seats, and multiple safety features. Most of these premium features are expected to make their way to the India-spec model as well.
Once launched, the Kia Sorento Hybrid will sit at the top of the company’s internal combustion SUV portfolio in India. It is expected to rival established premium SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, and Jeep Meridian, while also appealing to buyers looking for a fuel-efficient hybrid alternative in the segment
With official bookings now underway, Kia has signalled its entry into the growing hybrid SUV space in India. More details regarding pricing, variant lineup, and launch timeline are expected to be announced in the coming weeks as the company prepares to introduce its flagship hybrid SUV to Indian customers.
