Kawasaki has unveiled the upcoming Z300 streetfighter in India, expanding its popular Z series with a new entry-level motorcycle. Showcased at an event in Bengaluru, the Kawasaki Z300 is expected to appeal to riders who are looking for a powerful naked bike with aggressive styling, modern features and a sporty riding experience.
The motorcycle is expected to share its mechanical underpinnings with the Kawasaki Ninja 300 while adopting a design which is inspired by the larger Z900. Bookings for the new motorcycle are scheduled to open on October 19, 2026, with prices and detailed specifications expected to be announced on October 20.
Kawasaki Z300 Engine and Performance
The Kawasaki Z300 is expected to use the familiar 296cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine which is found in the Ninja 300. The existing engine produces 38.4 bhp and 26.1 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. However, Kawasaki has yet to officially confirm the final specifications of the Z300.
The motorcycle is also expected to share its suspension and braking components with the Ninja 300. These could include telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, 17-inch alloy wheels, petal disc brakes and dual-channel ABS. The combination is likely to give a balance between everyday usability and sporty performance.
Kawasaki Z300 Design and Features
Unlike the fully faired Ninja 300, the Z300 features a naked streetfighter design with muscular bodywork, an exposed engine and an aggressive road presence. Its styling gets its inspiration from the larger Kawasaki Z900, including the sharp design language associated with the brand’s Sugomi philosophy.
One of the expected highlights is a modern TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity and features such as turn-by-turn navigation. This would be a major upgrade over the semi-digital instrument cluster available on the Ninja 300. The final equipment list will be confirmed closer to the launch of the motorcycle.
Kawasaki Z300 Expected Price in India
Kawasaki has not announced the official price of the Z300 yet. For reference, the Ninja 300 is currently priced at approximately Rs. 3.34 lakh ex-showroom. The Z300 could be positioned below its fully faired sibling, with a price under Rs. 3 lakh, which could potentially make it a competitive option in the segment.
Once launched, the motorcycle could attract buyers considering premium naked bikes such as the KTM 390 Duke and TVS Apache RTR 310.
With its twin-cylinder engine, streetfighter styling and expected technology upgrades, the Kawasaki Z300 could become an interesting addition to India’s performance motorcycle market. Its final pricing and confirmed specifications will play an important role in determining its appeal among buyers.
