‘Dhurandhar 2’ Box Office Day 36: Ranveer Singh’s Film Nears Historic Records Despite Slowdown

Ranveer Singh’s Blockbuster Dhurandar 2: The Revenge continues its extraordinary box office run even in its sixth week, getting closer to some of the biggest records of indian cinema. As per the latest updates, the film has crossed the ₹1,120 crore mark in India and amassed around ₹1,764 crore worldwide, solidifying its position among the highest grossing indian films of all time.

On Day 35, the pace of the film slowed, but earnings were roughly ₹1.5–1.7 crore, a natural dip for a movie deep into its theatrical run. However, the cumulative numbers remain massive, showcasing its strong initial momentum and sustained audience interest. Even on Day 36, the film continues to draw in footfall, although at a reduced rate, as it battles out new competition at the box office.

Despite the slowdown, the Aditya Dhar directorial is still chasing major milestones. It currently needs over ₹110 crore domestically to surpass Pushpa 2: The Rule and claim the top spot in India, while globally it is just ₹40–50 crore away from overtaking Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

Interestingly, the film has achieved these key numbers without releases in key international markets such as China and the Gulf, which makes its performance even more remarkable. Additionally, its OTT release has reportedly been delayed to mid-May, which allows the film to maximise its theatrical earnings.

However, the competition from the new releases, such as Bhooth Bangla, has started impacting its daily collections, with the latter showing stronger weekday performance in recent days.

Overall, while the pace has slowed down, it’s still a box office standout. Whether it can break records now totally depends on how well it sustains in the upcoming days, but its legacy as one of the biggest hits of Bollywood is also secured.
