Tata Motors has launched the new Tata Aeris compact sedan in India at an introductory price of Rs 5.29 lakh, ex-showroom. Positioned as the successor to the Tata Tigor, the Aeris brings a substantially redesigned exterior, an updated cabin, more features and both petrol and CNG powertrain options.
Tata Aeris Price and Variants
The new Tata Aeris is available in five variants: Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Creative and Accomplished. Prices range from Rs 5.29 lakh to Rs 9.19 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The starting price is around Rs 40,000 lower than the Tigor it replaces. Tata is positioning the Aeris specifically for personal buyers, while the Xpres continues to cater to fleet customers.
Bookings for the new sedan are now open through Tata dealerships and the official company website. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in October and November depending on the source and launch information.
Tata Aeris Gets Fresh Exterior Design
The Tata Aeris receives a heavily revised exterior compared with the outgoing Tigor. It features a slimmer grille, rectangular LED headlamps, revised bumpers and LED fog lamps. The sedan also gets newly designed alloy wheels, wheel arch cladding and a redesigned rear section with connected style lighting elements.
Feature-Packed Interior
Inside, the Tata Aeris gets a redesigned cabin with a lighter beige and grey theme. Highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, automatic climate control, cruise control and ventilated front seats.
Higher variants also get features such as a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, dashcam and additional electronic safety systems. Six airbags are offered as standard across the range.
Petrol and CNG Engine Options
The Tata Aeris uses a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 86 PS and 113 Nm. A factory-fitted twin-cylinder CNG option is also available, producing around 76 PS and 97 Nm. Both powertrains can be paired with five-speed manual and AMT gearboxes.
With its new design, upgraded features and multiple powertrain choices, the Tata Aeris enters the compact sedan segment alongside models such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze.
