Apple has increased the prices of several iPhone models in India following the launch of the new iPhone 18 Pro series. Instead of reducing the prices of older models, as is usually expected after a new generation arrives, Apple has made the iPhone 16, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air significantly more expensive.
The iPhone 17 has received a substantial price increase. Its 256GB variant, which was earlier priced at Rs 82,900, now costs Rs 99,900. The 512GB version has increased from Rs 1,02,900 to Rs 1,24,900. This means customers now pay up to Rs 22,000 more for the higher storage option.
The iPhone Air has witnessed the biggest increase. Its 256GB model now costs Rs 1,49,900, compared with Rs 1,19,900 previously. The 512GB version is priced at Rs 1,74,900, while the 1TB variant has jumped from Rs 1,59,900 to Rs 2,24,900, marking a massive Rs 65,000 increase.
Apple has also raised the price of the iPhone 17e. The 256GB model now starts at Rs 79,900, up from Rs 64,900, while the 512GB version costs Rs 1,04,900. The iPhone 16 has also become more expensive, with its 128GB model now listed at Rs 89,900.
Apple’s official India store now lists the iPhone 17 at Rs 99,900, iPhone Air at Rs 1,49,900, iPhone 17e at Rs 79,900 and iPhone 16 at Rs 89,900.
The price revisions come after Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, alongside its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900 in India.
For consumers who were to looking to buy an older iPhone at a discounted official price, the latest apple move is therefore a significant surprise for them .
