Vodafone Idea has announced a major brand refresh as the telecom operator looks to strengthen its market position and reconnect with consumers. The company has unveiled a new visual identity for Vi and brought Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on board as the face of its upcoming brand campaign.
Vi Gets A New Identity
As part of the rebranding exercise, Vodafone Idea has introduced a refreshed version of its Vi logo. The company has transformed its signature yellow visual element into a three-dimensional sphere and moved it to the top of the logo.
The new identity will gradually appear across Vi’s consumer touchpoints, digital platforms, retail outlets and communications. The company said the change is more than a logo update and represents the beginning of a wider evolution of the Vi brand.
Shah Rukh Khan Joins Vi
Shah Rukh Khan will feature as the face of Vi’s upcoming campaign titled “Vi badal raha hai… tayaar rahiye”, which translates to “Vi is changing… be ready.”
The telecom company said Khan’s association reflects the energy, ambition and optimism it wants to bring into its next phase. Vi CEO Abhijit Kishore said the brand transformation will include new campaigns, strategic launches and customer experiences in the coming weeks.
Vi Eyes Growth
The rebranding comes as Vodafone Idea attempts to accelerate its business recovery. The company added 240,114 customers in July, its highest monthly gain in two years. It has also recorded six consecutive months of customer additions since February.
Vi is simultaneously working to raise funds for its network expansion plans. The company has outlined a capital expenditure plan of around ₹45,000 crore over the next three years, focused on strengthening its 4G network and expanding 5G services.
With a refreshed identity, a high-profile celebrity ambassador and plans for network investment, Vodafone Idea is looking to position Vi as a more modern, technology-focused brand. The coming months will show whether the new strategy can translate into stronger customer growth and greater competition in India’s telecom market.
