Skoda is set to launch the 2026 Slavia facelift in India today, August 18, bringing a series of cosmetic and feature updates to its popular midsize sedan. The facelift is expected to retain the existing platform of the Slavia and petrol engines while introducing a fresher design, more technology and a new automatic gearbox option.
Updated Exterior Design
The 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift is expected to receive subtle styling changes rather than a complete redesign. Test mules have indicated revised LED headlamps and taillights, along with changes to the front grille and bumper. The grille could also feature integrated lighting elements inspired by the newer models of Skoda, giving the sedan a more modern appearance.
At the rear, the Slavia is likely to get redesigned lighting elements and minor bumper updates. New alloy wheel designs and additional exterior detailing could also be part of the facelift.
More Features Inside
The cabin is expected to retain the overall dashboard layout of the current Slavia but could gain several important upgrades. These may include a larger touchscreen infotainment system, updated upholstery, wireless charging and an electric sunroof. Level 2 ADAS is also expected to be among the major additions, potentially bringing features such as adaptive cruise control and lane assistance.
New 8-Speed Automatic Gearbox
One of the biggest changes could be under the hood. The existing 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine is expected to get a new 8-speed automatic transmission, replacing the current six-speed torque-converter unit. The 1.5-litre TSI engine is expected to continue with the seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The engine lineup itself is likely to remain unchanged.
Expected Price and Rivals
The facelifted Slavia is expected to command a premium over the outgoing model, with the estimated starting price around ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The updated sedan will continue competing with the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City, with its refreshed styling, added features and new automatic transmission aimed at strengthening the position of Skoda in the midsize sedan segment
