Ather Energy has officially teased its upcoming mass-market electric scooter based on the brand-new EL platform, providing the clearest look to date with the production-ready model before its India debut on August 29, 2026, during the fourth edition of Ather Community Day in Bengaluru. The teaser image, shared by Ather CEO Tarun Mehta, shows the scooter rolling off the production line, showcasing that the manufacturing is already underway.
The upcoming scooter is expected to become the most affordable electric scooter from Ather, coming with an estimated ex-showroom price of ₹1 lakh to ₹1.25 lakh. It is aimed at the high-volume commuter segment and will compete with rivals such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak C25, and other mainstream electric scooters.
Visually, the production model closely resembles the previously showcased EL01 concept. The teaser hints at a premium-looking metal body, while spy images suggest the scooter will feature a 14-inch front wheel, 12-inch rear wheel, front disc brake, and rear drum brake. It is also expected to come equipped with a 7-inch TFT touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, navigation, and connected vehicle features.
The EL platform has been designed as a scalable architecture capable of supporting multiple battery sizes ranging from 2kWh to 5kWh. This flexible approach will allow Ather to develop several future products, including family scooters, performance models, and other body styles while catering to different price points.
Ather has described this launch as one of its biggest product expansions yet. Besides unveiling the new scooter, the company is also expected to announce updates related to its charging infrastructure, software ecosystem, and future EV technologies during Community Day. With the EL platform, Ather is looking to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing electric two-wheeler market of India by making its technology accessible to a much wider audience.
