Marvel Studios has finally dropped the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, giving fans their biggest glimpse yet at the next blockbuster of the MCU. Packed with the returning heroes, multiverse crossovers and the shocking debut of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, the trailer promises to be one of the most ambitious Marvel films to be ever made.
The trailer opens with the chaos spreading across multiple realities as Doctor Doom emerges as a powerful new threat. Unlike his iconic portrayal of Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. appears in a darker, menacing role, setting up a dramatic conflict which could easily reshape the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His transformation into Victor Von Doom has quickly become the biggest talking point of the trailer among the fans.
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor takes centre stage as he attempts to unite the mightiest heroes of the Earth against Doom. The footage teases alliances between the Avengers, Wakanda, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, while hinting that not every team is ready to work together immediately. Internal clashes between heroes appear to play an important role before they face their common enemy.
One of the biggest surprises of the trailer is the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, sparking speculation about how the former Captain America fits into the multiverse storyline. Alongside him, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, Ian McKellen’s Magneto, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, and several other Marvel favourites make appearances, which creates a massive ensemble cast.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday aims to deliver the scale and emotional stakes that made Infinity War and Endgame global successes. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on December 18, 2026, with Marvel expected to reveal more details during San Diego Comic-Con later this week.
