Toyota is reportedly preparing to unveil the facelifted Innova Hycross in India on November 26, 2026. The upcoming update will mark the MPV’s first major refresh since its Indian launch in December 2022. Along with cosmetic changes, the updated model could introduce a flex-fuel strong hybrid powertrain, which will potentially make it Toyota’s first E85-compatible passenger vehicle in India.
Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift: Expected Design Changes
The 2026 Toyota Innova Hycross facelift is expected to receive major styling revisions, particularly at the front. Based on spy images and earlier design details, the updated MPV could feature a redesigned front fascia inspired by the Toyota Hilux.
Expected changes include a larger grille, sleeker LED headlamps, a revised front bumper and updated fog lamp housings. The side profile is likely to retain its existing silhouette, although Toyota could introduce new alloy wheel designs. At the rear, revised lighting elements and minor bumper updates are also possible.
E85 Flex Fuel Hybrid Powertrain Expected
One of the biggest highlights of the upcoming Toyota Innova Hycross facelift could be the introduction of an E85-compatible flex fuel strong hybrid powertrain.
Toyota previously showcased a flex fuel hybrid prototype based on the Innova Hycross in 2023. The prototype featured a modified 2.0 litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor and was engineered to operate on petrol-ethanol blends containing up to 85% ethanol.
The system required several modifications, including revised engine components, ethanol sensors, an upgraded fuel pump, corrosion-resistant fuel system components and a cold start mechanism.
If introduced in the production model, the flex fuel hybrid setup could provide buyers with an alternative to conventional petrol and hybrid powertrains while supporting higher ethanol blends.
Interior and Features
The overall dashboard layout is expected to remain largely unchanged. However, Toyota could introduce refreshed upholstery, updated infotainment software and improvements to the driver display.
Additional features such as a 360-degree camera system and upgraded connected car technology could also be considered for the facelift.
Expected Launch and Price
The Toyota Innova Hycross facelift is reportedly scheduled to debut on November 26, 2026. Official pricing and variant details are yet to be announced.
The facelift will compete in India’s premium MPV segment against models such as the Maruti Suzuki Invicto. More details about its powertrain, features and pricing are expected to emerge closer to the unveiling.
